From the South
Take the A702 from Abington (M74, Junction 13) to Biggar. Just to the north of Biggar turn right onto the A72, signed to Peebles. Alternatively take the A701 via Moffat and turn left onto the A72 a little north of Broughton, where it is signed to Biggar and Skirling.
 

From the East
Take the A72 from Peebles and follow the signs for Biggar.

From Edinburgh
The simplest route is to follow the directions in the city to the A702 (often signed as well to Carlisle and the South). Follow the A702 until you reach the A72, just north of Biggar. Take the A72, signed to Peebles.

From Edinburgh Airport
Follow the signs from the airport to Edinburgh City Centre. Shortly after leaving the airport, follow the signs for the City Bypass, the A720. Take that around the city until you reach the exit for the A702, signed to Carlisle.

From Glasgow and Glasgow Airport
Take the M8 eastbound, towards Edinburgh and follow the signs for Carlisle which will lead you from the M8 and onto the M74 southbound. Continue south to the Abington Services and follow the A702 to Biggar, as from the South.

When you reach Skirling, Skirling House is an extensive, dark coloured, wood clad house facing onto the village green. There is private parking in front of the house.
